CESC FABREGAS SET TO STAY AT CHELSEA DESPITE AC MILAN PURSUIT

The Blues will keep their creative midfielder despite the Serie A giants' attempts to bring him to San Siro

Cesc Fabregas is set to stay at Chelsea after receiving the relevant assurances over his playing time ahead of the new season, despite prolonged attempts by AC Milan to bring him to Italy.
Fabregas has been aware of Milan's interest since December last year but he is happy to stay in London, despite admitting to being disappointed about missing out on a start in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal.
The midfielder has an extensive family who are settled in the English capital and Fabregas is known to enjoy life in the city off the field.
Milan boss Vincenzo Montella was keen to secure Fabregas and the club previously spotted a potential opportunity to bring him to Milan, but those chances now appear to have ended.

Antonio Conte wants Fabregas to compete for a spot in the starting XI with N'Golo Kante and new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko, although he is ready to offload Nemanja Matic, with Inter, Juventus and Manchester United all interested.
Meanwhile, the Blues recently sold Nathaniel Chalobah to Watford for £5 million and they could yet seek a fourth-choice midfielder to come in and compliment the group.
The club will wait and see what the likes of Mario Pasalic, Kyle Scott and Lewis Baker have to offer during their pre-season tour, before making a decision on whether to add a midfielder to their squad.
